ABSTRACT
The article presents a reprint of the article "How Long, Oh Lord, How Long?"Detroit which appeared in the September 1967 issue of "Ebony." It notes the Detroit, Michigan riot as one of the most damaging that killed 42 persons and a damage done of an estimated 1 billion dollars. It infers the move of the black reporter to revisit the area by risking his life among flying bullets, rocks and fire bombs, stopped by a grocery before which quiet residents waited patiently in line.
