ABSTRACT
The article presents a study conducted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) which looks into the problems confronting the space acquisition program of the Department of Defense (DOD). GAO reveals that the DOD has done significant improvements in its high-risk space programs and will be launching new generations of satellites. It notes the problem of DOD on increasing costs from the initial cost estimates and a decline in capability production.
