ABSTRACT
The article discusses the relationship between girls who become vegetarians and eating disorders. According to a study by the University of Minnesota, about 20% of current and former vegetarians develop an obsession about food intake, compared to 10% of those who never became vegetarians. It states that for some, vegetarianism is nothing more than a mask for a serious eating disorder. This is reportedly because those who are obsessed with their body image feel they have little control over their lives, hence their attempts to control their food intake.
