ABSTRACT
The article reports on the 25.7 million dollar grant awarded by the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to Critical Hub Networks to create a fiber-optic cable link to Florida. The project will be under the Puerto Rico Bridge Initiative (PRBI) that will offer lower internet cost and affordable high-speed internet access. Meanwhile, Lawrence E. Sticking, National Telecommunications & Information Administration administrator, commented on the critical role of broadband to the community.
