ABSTRACT
The article provides a time line of events significant to the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The events include the initiation of drilling by BP's Deepwater Horizon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico in February 2010, U.S. President Barack Obama's March 31, 2010 announcement of his proposal to expand offshore drilling and the April 20, 2010 explosion on the Deepwater Horizon which killed 11 people and resulted in over 42,000 gallons of oil per day being leaked into the Gulf of Mexico.
