ABSTRACT
The article discusses the growing interest in schools for information on response to intervention (RTI) programs, which identify those with learning problems. It states that the Individuals With Disabilities Act of 2004 supports a variation of the program, called a tiered intervention model. According to Spectrum K-12, an education software firm, over 70% of school districts were using some form of RTI in 2009, an increase over the 44% reported in 2007. RTI, however, is allegedly difficult to implement, and interpreted in many different ways.
