ABSTRACT
Response to Intervention (RTI) is a framework that integrates assessment and targeted instruction within a multi-tiered intervention system to increase student achievement and identify those students that need additional intervention. Each Tier is identified by the content and intensity of the intervention and the personnel who carry out the intervention. Although educators can identify the characteristics of Tier I and Tier III intervention, many are not able to do so for Tier II. This article presents an in depth look at the components of Tier II intervention and implications for implementation at site based programs.
