ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs related to multicultural diversity. A survey from the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) reports that English Language Learners (ELL) are not being successfully incorporated into school populations. Swedish author Annika Thor was the recipient of the Mildred Batchelder Award for publication of a children's book. The family literacy program Talk Story: Sharing Story, Sharing Culture has been initiated by the Asian Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA).
