ABSTRACT
The article offers the insights of several former U.S. presidents on how they viewed their works as a president. James Buchanan defines presidency as a crown of thorns, while Herbert Hoover describes it as a hair shirt. Lyndon Johnson considers it as an awesome burden, but current U.S. President Richard Nixon views presidency as a great pleasure because he can attend other activities while performing his tasks.
