ABSTRACT
The article discusses renewable energy plans of Saudi Arabia. It has been stated that the kingdom decided to explore power generation outside the traditional fossil fuel-fired technology in 1960s, but in the years since then renewable energy plans of it remained small-scale and fundamentally research-oriented. It has been stated that in April 2010, a royal decree was passed to make King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy to lead the development of alternative energy in the kingdom.
