ABSTRACT
The article examines how the U.S. tea party movement is based on false assumptions about the economic program of the Obama administration. According to the author, the tea party originated from the populist criticisms against the Troubled Asset Recovery Program (TARP) and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. He believes that the same conservatives who are criticizing the Obama administration's economic agenda are the same ones who failed in their predictions about the Clinton administration.
