Focuses on the several problems of the mineral-insulated heat trace cable of the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant (CCNPP) applied with Thermon cement as a heat transfer medium used to keep boric acid in solution. Difficulties of system component maintenance; Replacement of the heat trace system with components not requiring mineral-insulated cable and Thermon cement; CCNPP's use of Delta-Therms Powertrace heating cable.
