ABSTRACT
The article analyzes efforts by former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich and other Republicans and politicians in attracting the Hispanic vote. Gingrich's website The Americano and planned forums in Washington, D.C. focus on campaigning for the Dream Act, which would grant citizenship to illegal immigrants' children who serve the military or attend college. The Republicans' previous stand on immigration reform is also discussed.
