ABSTRACT
Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine are multidisciplinary sciences which evolved in parallel with the recent biotechnology progresses. They combine biomaterials, growth factors and stem cells to repair organs and loss of tissues. Adipose tissue engineering is an emergent approach that may be able to develop autologous substitutes as an alternative to the current technique of fat transplantation for the repair of soft tissues defects. Human adult adipose tissue represents an abundant source of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Moreover, it is an ideal source of stem cells for its abundant reparability easy access facility to harvest.
