ABSTRACT
The article reports that blacks markets have become the principal means of subsistence among malnourished population of North Korea. According to newspaper, "Chosun Ilbo," about 83 percent of the 24 million population of the North rely on the market economy to feed themselves. It reports that South Korea had suspended its aid of food and fertilizer to the North three years ago. According to sources in Seoul, the North has also raised its prices of rationed food since summer of 2010.
