ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the study conducted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) regarding the border security of the U.S. in 2010. It states that the Border Patrol has reported the achievement of varying degrees of operational control over 873 of about 2,000 southwest border miles, reflecting the ability of Border Patrol to respond to illegal activities after entrance to the country. It says that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) changes its border security policies.
