The article provides information on the effects of some common drugs on teenagers. It says that energy drinks, coffee and cola drinks contain the chemical glucuronolactone and the organic acid taurine aside from the stimulant drug caffeine, the regular use of which could lead to sleep problems, bedwetting and anxiety. The author adds that some teens are using nutmeg to get high, which can cause dizziness, vomiting and nausea when consumed in large quantities. The bad effects of inhalants, alcohol consumption and cigarette smoking are also discussed.
