ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the economic damage costs of the porcine enzootic pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae to the profits of pork production in the U.S. According to swine expert Erin Strait, the M. hyo organism attaches itself to the epithelial cells lining of the respiratory tract of older pigs than n younger pigs. In addition, it cites the signs of infection which includes productive cough, decresed appetite, and lower feed intake.
