The article presents the U.S. Government Accountability Office's (GAO) report on its investigation on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), through its Customs and Border Protection (CBP) component, capabilities to enforce border security. It mentions GAO's recommendations to DHS on measures to strengthen border security against terrorism, smuggling activities, and illegal migration. Also mentioned is DHS action to control and monitor the entry and exit of foreign visitors to the country.
