ABSTRACT
The article presents forecasts for the oil and gas industry of Iraq. It states that Iraq's proven oil reserves are predicted to rise by 2012, in which almost 70% of gas reserves are linked to oil fields. It says that although Business Monitor International Ltd. (BMI) anticipates that the oil output will still be low, foreign developers' successful boost of the output is expected to support the production goal by the end of 2011. The refining sector of Iraq is managed and owned by the state.
