ABSTRACT
The article presents the opinions of Afghan civil society activist Orzala Ashraf and Afghan political expert Michael Semple on the controversial idea of negotiation with the Taliban, an Islamist militia group in Afghanistan. Ashraf believes that negotiations should not be made with the Taliban because it puts the rights of women at risk, while Semple disagrees, saying that the potential threat of the Taliban is too great to ignore.
