ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the role of Australia in anti-westernism. The myth of Singapore has become a peculiarly Australian contribution to the idea that Western imperialism is evil and the cause of much of the world's problems. Australia believes that its obligation to Great Britain had been removed by Britain's failure to reinforce Singapore adequately.
