ABSTRACT
The article presents a report from the Center for Gaming Research which compared how several reporting areas in Nevada's gaming industry fared since 1984. It points out that revenues in the past quarter century increased by 231% from 1984 to 2010. Revenues in downtown Las Vegas casinos however increased by only 10% and was not able to get a proportional share of additional visitors' gambling spend. It indicates the danger of complacency and the need for Nevada's gaming industry to work vigilantly in the next growth area, namely online and mobile play.
