ABSTRACT
The article looks at how Nevada businesses fared in the 120-day session of the Nevada Legislature which ended on June 7, 2011. It says that an integral piece of the budget battle during the session was the push to shorten homeowners' time window to sue and limit attorney fees. Beginning on July 1, the state spending for the biennium budget will shrink by 500 million U.S. dollars. In response to the Republicans' support of extending the taxes set to expire, concessions have been offered by the Democrats for construction defect laws, among others.
