The article focuses on a retrospective study related to the association between weight loss and engagement with a web-based food and exercise diary in a commercial weight loss programme. It is concluded that weight loss can be predicted by the use of self-monitoring tools and participation in online support, in the context of a commercial, online weight control programme.
