ABSTRACT
Analyzes the argument of transnational corporations (TNC) that self-management of corporate behavior is the best way to achieve environmental and social responsibility. Effect of the tendency for non-governmental organizations to engage with TNC; Benefits from the trend towards more voluntary disclosure and monitoring; Problems with access to appeals processes and verification of the information gathered in the reporting processes.
