ABSTRACT
The article reports on the differing stance of developed countries and states to their south on nuclear power as the cost of the Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan rises. Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, Mexico, China, U.S. and France are slowing or shuttering their nuclear power programs. Nuclear power prospects are seen as brighter in Bangladesh, India and Vietnam. Factors driving nuclear suppliers to service nuclear pariahs include cash from reactor sales and geopolitics.
