ABSTRACT
The article offers a look at the performance of AMN Healthcare in 2011. Its stock has dropped by almost half since its 40% rally in May amid a heavy debt load, European debt crisis and speculation of a double-dip recession. A 31.2 million U.S. dollar goodwill-impairment charge was recorded by AMN when it decided to sell its home-care business. It notes that this impairment charge indicates that AMN made a mistake in acquiring Medfinders in 2010.
