ABSTRACT
The article presents several strategies on how to avoid tax-related problems of investors in the U.S. The first step refers to investing in vehicles with low portfolio turnover as well as exchange-traded funds (EFTs). Another strategy is balancing the equity holdings with bond holdings. It also notes the need to use a loss harvesting strategy which is considered as an easy strategy to implement while maintaining a consistent asset allocation strategy and overall diversification.
