The article reports that producers and state agriculture officials have been warned that U.S. federal laws governing farm workers are claiming heavy social/financial burdens imposed on them by illegal aliens. It highlights H-2A and H-2B visa programs overseen by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, under which temporary or seasonal visas are granted to migrant workers. It mentions that the laws are facing conflicts between farms' need for migrant workers and U.S. communities.
