ABSTRACT
The article deals with the possibility that Russian-born novelist Ayn Rand was an illegal immigrant, and discusses immigration law issues in the U.S. It describes how Rand was able to get a tourist visa and later gain citizenship. It examines the views of politicians on illegal immigrants. It points out that unduly tight immigration restrictions encourage illegal border crossings.
