ABSTRACT
The article relates the relationship between plus-size model Anansa Sims-Patterson and her mother, African American model Beverly Johnson. According to Sims-Patterson, she started living with her mother at the age of 12 when she was still a tomboy and rough. Their bonding times included getting manicures together, shopping and going to the spa, she says. She also notes that her mother taught her about the importance of inner beauty.
