ABSTRACT
An antihyperglycemic activity has been studied by taking the methanolic extract of dried leaves of Lucas clarkei Hook (Lamiaceae). The extraction was done by cold maceration and successive solvent extraction process. This research work was completed in a time period of 14 days by selecting the methanolic extract doses of 100,200 and 400 mg/kg/body weight against the alloxan induced diabetic rats and glibenclamide as standard drug. Six groups of rats were taken having five rats in each group and ANOVA and Dunnett's test statistical methods were applied for the final results. All selected doses were found to be significant at p<0.05 level.
