ABSTRACT
The article discusses the potential of renewable energy in improving energy efficiency and independence in the U.S. A study showed the comparison between renewable energy-based power plants and their fossil fuel-based counterparts, where coal and gas power stations generate 100-500 megawatts each while wind and solar power plants make up to 10 megawatts. Findings of the study added that renewable energy will struggle in implementing due to fragmented transmission and lack of investment.
