ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the benefits of dashboards for U.S. government agencies. A standalone dashboard providing a user-friendly view of administrative processes is presented as improving performance as exemplified by the Texas Education Agency's dashboard project. Dashboards and performance metrics creating cost efficiencies is discussed in Maryland's Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services' StateStat. Transparency in the Federal Information Technology (IT) Dashboard is explored.
