The article discusses the acquisition of Instagram, a free photo-sharing iPhone and Android app by Facebook for one billion U.S. dollars. The author explains the reasons for Instagram being desirable to Facebook including Instagram already being used by many brands as a marketing tool can help Facebook in interacting with businesses in the future, the Instagram photo filters enables one to play around with the images, and Instagram being mobile allows the uploading of images in seconds.
