ABSTRACT
The idea that the reactor at Three Mile Island, Pennsylvania was close to meltdown is exaggerated badly. A study commissioned by the U.S. Department of Energy has backed up this statement. Also, the American Nuclear Society's findings indicate that the danger of radioactive emissions in nuclear power plant accidents may not be as great as once thought.
