Development of regional ophthalmology, closer integration with West primary goals in Russia

The article focuses on the goal of Russia to develop regional ophthalmology and to increase integration with Western countries, according to Boris Malyugin, a professor of ophthalmology and board member of the Russian Society of Ophthalmology. He noted that primary and basic eye care is provided in regional polyclinics, while more specialized procedures are performed in ophthalmology departments of state-owned hospitals.
