ABSTRACT
The author discusses the efforts of geothermal utilities to encourage geothermal investment to maintain increasing power demands. The authors states that most utilities are offering discounts for geothermal heat pumps (GHPs) and solar energy system installation to promote energy conservation. The author adds that if geothermal companies can provide consumers a valuable and affordable monthly cost for heating and cooling, GHPs can responsively become a mainstream technology.
