ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision by the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation (APFC) to invest in the firms Blackstone Alternative Asset Management and The Carlyle Group in July 2013. The APFC will commit 500 million U.S. dollars in the Blackstone Strategic Holdings Fund. The fund is expected to commit up to 375 million dollars to private equity vehicles of Carlyle. Another 375 million dollars will be placed in Carlyle investments focusing on the natural resource metals and energy industries.
