ABSTRACT
Social analysis is an art. There are several methods at crude level. The elements are generally grouped under four categories- Commitment, Description, Analysis and Conclusions. The word, commitment, is used, because it implies a turning to values. We have to make explicit the values we bring to the task.

Discrete choice models estimated using hypothetical choices made in a survey setting (i.e., choice experiments) are widely used to estimate the importance of product attributes in order to make product design and marketing mix decisions. Choice experiments allow the researcher to estimate...

Classification is a data analysis technique. The decision tree is one of the most popular classification algorithms in current use for data mining because it is more interpretable. Training data sets are not error free due to measurement errors in the data collection process. Traditional...

Many studies on individual decision making have shown that a disproportionate number of respondents choose the status quo (SQ) alternative. But it is still unclear what motivates individuals to disproportionately select the SQ alternative. Using data from two choice experiments about forest...

  • Improving Group Decision Support Systems using Rough Set. Eisa, Mohamed // International Journal of Computer Applications;May2013, Vol. 69, p9

In this paper, a proposed Group Decision Support Systems model based on Rough Set is presented. The model improves decision making process by using rough set as a tool for knowledge discovery on decision support system, where the same feature may evaluate by one decision maker as good and by...

  • Towards a better understanding and analysis of controlled delay (CoDel) algorithm by using fluid modelling. Patil, Sachin D.; Tahiliani, Mohit P. // IET Networks;2019, Vol. 8 Issue 1, p59

In this study, a modified fluid model is proposed to understand the design of controlled delay (CoDel) algorithm for active queue management (AQM) and analyse its sensitivity to parameter settings. CoDel significantly differs from other AQM algorithms because it operates at the head of the queue...

The paper deals with the problem of motion data classification based on dynamic time warping transform. In the preliminary stage the selection of pose configuration parameters by hill climbing procedure is carried out. To construct dissimilarity matrices Euler angles and unit quaternion distance...

Belonging to the class of hard combinatorial optimization problems, educational timetabling problems are considered to be challenging and attractive to operation research community in recent years. In this paper, we investigate a course timetabling problem in practice by introducing an integer...
