ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the development of law for hateful and offensive speech under the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama in the U.S. It explores Obama's effort for supporting the right to free speech under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. It discusses two cases of the U.S. Supreme Court Chaplinsky v. New Hampshire and Cohen v. California regarding introduction of fighting words doctrine for freedom of speech.
