ABSTRACT
In this article the author discusses about the value of economics education in school curriculum to promote the new common core standards. He has discussed a secondary benefit of study of economics which he called as the fourth "R" that is a real world understanding of economy as well as personal finance. He has mentioned that this study involves close reading for comprehension, integration of resources such as graphs and charts, analysis and comparison and a comprehension of other approaches.
