ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the request sent by Manju Ganeriwala, President of the U.S. National Association of State Treasurers (NAST) to the U.S. the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) raising concerns about the reforms that the SEC proposed in June 2013. It states that NAST concerns that proposed reforms would deter states from using municipal money market funds (MMFs) as an efficient tool for managing large volumes of short-term liquid assets.
