ABSTRACT
The article discusses the complexities of family-based immigration in the U.S. The enactment of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) is highlighted which restricts the relationships that qualify for a family petition. Expectations that the immigration reform bill would minimize the flaws in the immigration system based on family relationships are outlined.
