Labour force employment in Romania registers developments, processes and trends that reflect the direct and indirect influences of the national economy system. The effects of the economic-financial crisis were shown also on the labour market, characterized by rates regarding employment that were lower and higher unemployment rates. In this context, also the youth employment rate decreased, their unemployment rate grew which led to a low insertion degree of youth on the labour market. This paper presents a brief analysis of the main indicators that characterize labour market participation of young people during the first quarter 2007 and the third quarter 2011.
