ABSTRACT
'The paper investigates on the integration of solar energy and biomass in low enthalpy geothermal plants. Different options have been analyzed in order to evaluate the best integration scheme. Solar source has been considered both for photovoltaic and thermodynamic conversion, comparing the two modes with respect to biomass contribute. High temperature achievable by biomass boiler showed some critical aspects about integration with solar thermodynamic section, affecting boiler efficiency. The analysis has been performed evaluating the global efficiency of each integration option and comparing each other. All examined cases have been analyzed for the same geothermal resource. Results are critically presented, offering a decisional tool when improving geothermal plants with other renewable energy sources.
