ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the danger associated with increased human activity in Arctic region due to untapped oil and natural gas deposits. Topics discussed include a survey conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey which revealed that 13 percent of the world's undiscovered oil lies in the Arctic, development of offshore oil and gas in the Arctic, and danger posed by glacial ice to ships. It also discusses the U.S. Air Force assets in Alaska.
