ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the gun prohibition laws for people with mental illness. Topics discussed include mass violence incidents culminating in the shooting, protection of an individual's Second Amendment right to possess a firearm and Gun Control Act of 1968 enacted by the U.S Congress following the assassinations of doctor Martin Luther King and Robert F. Kennedy. It also discusses U.S President Barack Obama's plan to protect our children and our communities by reducing gun violence.
