ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the legal issues related to the science of de-extinction. Topics discussed include role of the federal Endangered Species Act (ESA) in protecting the endangered species, evaluation of the environmental impact under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and role of the NEPA in reintroducing the de-extinct species into wild. It further discusses the rules and regulations related to the labeling and patentability of the genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
